Consonance – Janusz Wawrowski & NICO Ensemble

Vilnius, Lithuania Friday, 23. May 2025 | 19:00

“Consonance”

“We invite you to a concert by the internationally acclaimed Vilnius City Ensemble NIKO, featuring minimalist and post-minimalist music by 20th and 21st-century composers, as well as excerpts from NIKO’s new album Consonance.

Joining them on stage will be violin virtuoso Janusz Wawrowski, performing on a Stradivarius instrument.

The concert will showcase minimalist and post-minimalist works for string instruments and piano. Through an introspective, sensitive, and expressive musical language, the program will open new dimensions of imagination for the audience. The repertoire includes works by some of today’s most renowned composers, such as Philip Glass and Max Richter, as well as original music by the ensemble’s founder and artistic director Gediminas Gelgotas, and pieces by one of Ukraine’s most prominent composers, Valentyn Silvestrov.”
